Everything Is Perspective

Everything we think and feel is completely in relationship to everything else around us. The trick to all of this is to change your perspective so that it serves your cause. Of course this is much easier said than done, however, it can be one of the most valuable things you could possibly do when it comes to the law of attraction and living the life of your dreams. There is a story that perfectly reflects this perspective that I would like to share with you.

There was a farmer in china a long time ago who used a horse and plow to plow his fields. He was a poor man who worked hard for what he had. One afternoon while working in his field the farmers horse had fallen over dead. Everyone in the village said, “oh, what bad luck. That is such a horrible thing to happen!.” The farmer simply replied, “we’ll see.” He was a very calm and peaceful man, even during situations like this.

Two days later the farmer found a stray horse wondering around on his property and after asking everyone if it was their horse and not finding the owner, he kept the horse for his new plow horse. Everyone in the village said, “What a lucky man you are!” The farmer simply said, “We’ll see.”

A few months later the new horse ran away and the farmer was again without a plow horse to help him do his work. Everyone looked at him as they shook their heads and said, “What a poor fellow! He has such bad luck!” As usual, the farmer smiled and said, “We’ll see.”

Eventually the horse found it’s way home and everyone said, “What a fortunate man!” The farmer smiled and said, “We’ll see.” Later that month, the farmer’s young boy went out riding the horse, and as he did he fell off the horse and broke his leg. “What a shame,” all the people in the village said. Again, the farmer simply smiled and said, “We will see.”

Two days later the army came into the village to draft new recruits. When they came to the farmer’s son they noticed he had a broken leg and decided to leave him. Everyone said, “How fortunate for you!” The farmer replied again, “We’ll see.”

The point is simple. Everything is good or bad based on the light that it is shed upon. The ability to see the light in even the darkest of times is a valuable skill that takes time to develop. The better you get at being able to see the good in the worst of times, the more you will begin to attract the good to yourself. The more you will begin to recognize magic working in your every day life. So what is happening in your life right now that has you down and out that could be used to serve you and your goals instead of causing stress and sorrow? Is there anything in your life right now that could be the inspiration and spring board for catapaulting you toward your goals and the life of your dreams? Take a look around and remember that everything has it’s time and place, and it is up to you to give much of the stuff that happens in your life it’s time and place.

Live in Abundance

Abundance is possible for everybody, although most people don’t experience it this way.

Especially when we are not doing very well economically, people experience quicker the pressure of the shortage, than the freedom that abundance gives you.
As a matter of fact abundance is just an energy that you can choose for if you believe that abundance is also there for you.

I am not just talking about abundance in financial way however a much wider aspect.

If you are in this abundance energy, everything comes to you. It feels like being in an overwhelming flow of vitality, humour, warmth, time and possibilities.
It is a real challenge when you just hear negative information around you to stay in this flow of abundance and look for this abundance in life.

Let us talk about money.

I remember when I was a kid, my mother very often used the expression that money doesn’t make you happy.
If you are more specific about it, I think money on its own doesn’t make you happy.
When you are only focussed on just getting more and more money or material assets it will be difficult to get into this flow of abundance, because you are just trying to get more and more and will never feel satisfied.

However money is a flow of energy and there is nothing wrong with having a lot of money if you can use it in a positive way and feel satisfied about having it.

It is a perfect well feeling to have a lot money that you can spent at items that you think are important for you.
These don’t have to be a big new car or other material status articles.

Even if you spent it on welfare, or whatever, as long as you use it to create your dreamworld.

How To Cut Down On College Stress

Probably the least appreciated form of stress is college stress. This is mostly due to the fact that adults simply see a lot of college students sitting on their rear ends playing video games and drinking, instead of seeing students who are under pressure to succeed all the time. In addition to classes, homework, research, reading, paper writing and problem solving, there are now the problems of how the heck to pay for college and whether there will be any jobs waiting after graduation. Thus, with all these forms of college stress weighing students down, it is no wonder that things tend to get ugly when they “blow off steam”.

Of course, there are better ways to deal with stress than to drink an entire case of beer in one day. In fact, abusing your body with any number of chemicals does not really help that much, aside from the fact that people generally relax when they do such things. However, they are usually relaxed before partaking of the latest work of ancient and modern chemistry, so the substances themselves really do not make much of a difference.

Unfortunately, college stress is often the first encounter that some students have with persistent stress, and it is hard for them to deal with it. However, it is also the first time that many of them have had experience with almost complete freedom, so college has a double threat. Complete freedom means the ability to simply ignore the cause of stress, which is usually the classes they need to stay in college. Thus, the problem of freshmen retention in many universities.

Unfortunately, most students don’t even attempt to find help for their stress problems. In fact, the most common effort to help students through their stress is to tell them to either just get their work done or to get used to it. Of course, this advice usually comes from their friends and, though there is a certain set that could use this advice, many other students are struggling to keep up simply because they are unable to cope with their stress. Thus, by relieving their own minds of their concerns, they could help their grades and help keep themselves in school.

The best place to start looking for relief from college stress is by talking to an advisor. They are more than happy to help students because they want to help them and, for the most part, nobody ever visits them. Thus, they are very eager to help, but very lonely, so they will be more than happy to give a hand to anyone who needs it. If you are a student under stress, they can help you deal with the classroom concerns and direct you to people who can help alleviate your stress concerns. It doesn’t matter how personal the problems might be, advisors are very private, very discreet, and they are more than happy to provide you with assistance.

For those who need more regular relief from college stress, there are other options to the usual cure of barley and hops. In fact, colleges are a wealth of opportunities to learn new stress-reduction methods. For instance, there are yoga clubs, meditation classes, and even courses in tai chi that can help you learn how to cope with stress and ease its effects on you. As well, many colleges will provide stress-relief seminars every so often, simply to help their students keep their stress at bay. By all means, look for these seminars and make use of them.

Another way to keep college stress at bay is to simply budget your time properly. Yes, that means that you should actually perform that time-honored and often-overlooked stress reduction method known as “getting work done early”. This not only means getting your homework polished off and done before the day it is due, you should also attempt to start long-term projects more than one day before they are due. By spreading out projects, you can actually relieve a lot of stress. This is because you will actually be giving yourself less work to do later and you will not have to freak out at the last minute because the work is not done. Yes, I know you’ve heard this all before, but if you want to avoid college stress, you need to actually do it for a change.

College stress is a major problem for university students, but it is mostly ignored by the students who are actually under stress. In fact, they usually just try to press through their stress without considering that it does not need to keep them under its thumb. However, that does not need to be the case. Students can help themselves by simply recognizing their own college stress and making a few efforts to alleviate it.

3 Affects That Perception Has On Your Success

You perception has a lot to do with the level of success that you have and don’t have. If your perceptions on certain things are off a little it will have a large impact on your success. Many times the only difference between someone who is successful and someone who isn’t is the perceptions that they have. Here are 3 affects that your perception has on your success.

1. Sets up your attitude.

If you go into a situation with a negative perception about something you will generally have a bad attitude about it and limit the possible potential that it has. Likewise, if you have a great perception about something you will go into a situation with a great attitude and generally seize more opportunities. Your attitude has a large affect on your success.

2. Affects your actions.

Just as perception affects your attitude it also affects your actions. Of course your actions will determine what kind of results you have. If you actions are consistent with those that bring success then you will have success. It’s amazing how your perception has such a large impact on your actions and therefore the successes and failures that you have.

3. Affects your decisions.

This is very important. If you have a bad perception about something it will affect the decisions that you make. You could make a wrong decision based on a misconception. Before you know it you missed out on a massive opportunity just because your perception was wrong. The best thing to do is to not prejudge things.

Intuition and Your ‘Flow Quotient’

Decisions, decisions…everyday we make decisions. Some decisions
are as simple as what to eat for dinner or when to go to the
store. Others are as complex as which job candidate to hire,
which company to retain services from, or where to invest for
your retirement.

How do we make those decisions? What if all the facts weigh out
or there are too many good options to choose from? How do you
arrive at your decision? You do this by listening to your inner
voice, your feelings, your gut instincts, that ‘knowing’
sensation that comes to you in the shower…these are all aspects
of your Intuition.

If you listen to CEO’s from companies that have soared in their
respective fields/markets, you’ll find one commonality- they all rely
on their intuition to help them make key decisions.

Following a rigid, by-the-book approach to business or to life,
doesn’t work all by itself. In fact, it rarely works when the
decisions all come from a written manual or corporate
headquarters and your unique circumstances or situations are not
factored in.

Rigid decisions like this are missing what I call the ‘flow
quotient’. They are forgetting that the best way to navigate the
river and head out with the tide into the ocean is to ‘go with
the flow,’ and we don’t have a written manual for our everyday
life.

There is however, a natural energy that flows and circulates
around us and through us. This energy is exchanged in
relationships and in business. When the flow is blocked, or
sectioned off with rigid structures and limitations, the flow
itself becomes restricted.

In life there are times when the river widens and the flow
increases and when the river narrows and the flow is restricted.
Using your intuition to make decisions, insures that the river
continues to flow, and you open to the natural flow, ‘knowing’
when to swim and when to paddle.

Using the ‘flow quotient’ to make good decisions opens you to all
possibilities. Instead of making decisions according to your old
ways and habits, opening to allow the flow can deliver new
energies and new inspiration.

Your intuition is an energy within you that also flows. Just
like the river, it has its own course. Opening yourself to
listen, you will know that it always gears you in the right
direction. It’s like the man in the crow’s nest on the ship. He
sees far ahead and knows which direction the ship should steer
in.

Opening to know that direction within yourself is a powerful tool
to use in your life. Think of your intuition as your 1st mate up
in the crow’s nest, seeing ahead of you and knowing which
direction will serve you best. Take the time to quiet your mind,
go within and listen to your ‘1st mate’. It will pay off more
times than not, and fairly often, in a big way!

Knowledge or Experience — Which Is the True Path to God?

Watching my five-year-old son unfold is like watching a butterfly struggle out of a cocoon. The struggle is heart-rending, but the promise of the beauty to come keeps me riveted. He tries so hard to be “cool”, my little human, and all the while he’s reminding us of what it’s like to be Divine.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to that place where experience is everything and there’s no such thing as “over-analyzing”. I think this is what Jesus meant when he said that in order to enter the Kingdom we must become like little children.

You see, Knowledge is an illusion of the mind, created by man. What is it that we seek knowledge of? Ultimately what we seek is God, and we can never Know God. We will never understand God - it’s just too big! We can only experience God. I say “only” as if it’s less than! It’s not less than, it’s All There Is!

There is a Hindu tradition (excuse me while I paraphrase here) that says that God and his wife were hanging out one day and He said, “Honey (Don’t you think God would call his wife “Honey?!), I am All Wise.” God’s wife said, “Dear One, if you think you’re so smart, I have a challenge for you.” And with that she cut Him up into 6 billion pieces and said, “If you’re so smart, go put yourself back together again!”

The obvious meaning of this story is that we are All little pieces of God, just trying to re-unite with Himself. But I think there’s another level to this story: When we place our value on Knowledge alone we create separation.

I love the analogy that we are to God like drops are to the ocean. We can experience the greatness in many different, wonderful ways, but we can never comprehend the magnitude of the whole.

So I’ll take my little butterfly to the ocean and witness the joy, the very magnificence, of Experience for the sake of Experience. I’ll forget to gather knowledge for a time and I’ll just Be, with God, the Ocean, my child and pure, pure Love. What could be better than that?

If you’re ready for a challenge, ask yourself these questions :

1. What blocks do I create for myself by saying “I don’t understand why!”? Do I use this phrase as an excuse for not moving forward?

2. What is one area of my life where I would like to experience God in a different way? Is it in the area of physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, or creative health? Or is there a way for me to experience God more fully in all of these areas?

3. How can I experience God in a different way?

If you are having trouble with this one, I would suggest lifting your mind in prayer and allowing your Higher Self some space to come through. Be willing to feel the squeeze as your turn from a grubby catarpillar to a beautiful butterfly!

Ambitions- Good And Bad

I aim to become the president of my country. I have the object the becoming the greatest scientist. I will one day be the richest person in the world. I aim to… and so goes the list of ambitions of people. No body remembers that the final goal for each one of us is back to earth. Let us talk more about ambitions.

Are ambitions good or bad? This is difficult to answer, isn’t it? To be an ambitious person must be very good. With ambitions a person strives to achieve a great feat. Few out of us have big ambitions and few very small. It all depends on our contentment. What will make us feel happy? What will make us feel worthy, and what will make us feel powerful? It’s all about what we want from life. If you want money at any cost, you will compromise with all other values and try to make more money. But if your ambition is to become an honest person and live a God fearing life, no amount of money can attract you do any wrongs.

Ambitions therefore depend upon our character., culture, mental makeup, outlook, values and so on. Till our ambitions don’t trouble others it is Ok. If by achieving our goal, we make others happy, that is still better. But if our ambitions hurt others, we must revisit our thinking and redefine our ambitions.

The Walking Dead

When life serves up an expected hardship. We must minimize
the time we spend giving ourselves a pity party or down
time. This week I want to touch on what could possibly
happen if you don’t reduce your downtime. Due to the
unexpected hardship or disappointment you can become
discouraged.

When we are discouraged and feeling sorry for ourselves
the unexpected hardship, disappointment or setback seems
insurmountable. So why should we even try?

At that point you become one of “The Walking Dead”.
You continue to getting out of the bed every morning,
but now you just go through the motions. Your life has
no purpose, passion or positive expectations. This is
place that dreams die a horrible death.

You are still married, still on the job, still cooking
dinner, still taking the kids to school. You are still
doing the business, still giving presentations and
prospecting, but on the inside you are detached and dead.
You have no passion are enthusiasm.

You can quote me on this “discouragement is a product of
letting some negative terrorist thought attack your
positive state of mind.”

Dr. I. V. Hilliard said at the point of discouragement
“your overcoming faith has gone with the winds of
discouragement. When you are walking dead you make decisions
out of a failure mentally, not a victor’s mentality.

In the walking dead condition you expect the worse to
happen. And you shall have what you seek. This will cause
you to sink into the bottomless pit of despair and
depression.

I have great news for you I am going to give three steps
that will revive your faith and resurrect your dreams.

Step One: Renew Your Mind (take back control of your
thought life) - When I was one of the walking dead
addicted to crack cocaine. I focused on changing my outer
world without much success.

But when I made the decision to change my inner world
(thought life) my outer world automatically began to
change.

Step 2: Encourage Yourself – It is possible that you
could be the only one who truly believes you can obtain
your dreams. Encourage yourself, don’t wait for others
to do it for you.

Step 3: Make New Plans For Success – Rejoice when you
fail because that only means that you’ve found out what
doesn’t work. Now you can use the valuable information
you learned from the bad experience. Take this new
knowledge and create a new success plan.

Corporate Coaching and Employees: One Step Ahead

“Don’t shoot… We’re on the same side.”

Contrary to popular belief, a corporate coaching session with your employees is not the beginning of the change process. Our studies and consulting indicate that, 90% of the time, employees already have a clue that a problem or challenge is on the horizon. Furthermore, some employees have already resolved to take action and correct an existing problem or prevent or minimize impending problems. This start of pre-existing readiness is called the employee’s “own force” (self-motivation) for change. In corporate coaching, the trick for the manager is not to let employees feel too threatened, exposed, or vulnerable when they sit down with you. If employees believe that they won’t be tortured or tormented, they will begin to relax and share data and impressions. Employees will naturally feel some initial anxiety and be a bit defensive, even when they are in safe hands. The manager can achieve a lot of success if he/she can tap into, heighten, and acknowledge the employee’s “own force” or self-recognition of the situation.

Some leaders believe that the coaching session will help the employee who has perceptual blind spots by establishing the fact that a problem exists. However, the real challenge is to eliminate blind spots regarding the problem’s “impact” and “consequences” of future action.

A common omission of leaders, while conducting a coaching discussion, is acknowledging and giving employees credit for their awareness of the problem or concern, voluntary cooperation, and self recognition of the needed change. After gathering research data on the cmoe.com/corporate-coaching.htm corporate coaching from both leaders and employees, we saw a fascinating pattern emerge. Leaders typically attributed their past coaching success to their own skillful orchestration of the coaching discussion. Employees, on the other hand, frequently attributed coaching success to their self-motivated effort to respond to change. Failure to understand that both the leader and employee play key parts in the corporate coaching process can lead to serious complications.

Employees generally don’t transmit graphic or extravagant verbal or nonverbal signs that they are attuned to the leader’s line of thought and recognize that change is needed. It is as though the employee doesn’t want to “let on” that the manager has a very good point which deserves serious consideration. That manager needs to be very alert and prepared to recognize and acknowledge a subtle yet positive shift of direction or recognition from the employee. The ability to put this into words is critical. For instance, if the employee says, “I guess I would be willing to give that a try,” the leader could either assume that the employee is still not fully committed or that this represents some positive movement and respond by saying. I’m glad you are willing to try. It is important to be sure that you want to go ahead with this plan.”

The objective of this procedure is to support the employee’s internal willingness or motivation to act constructively in the future. If the supervisor can recognize and reinforce the employee’s “own force,” then the ease and speed of the change will increase.

Employees value expression of appreciation in exchange for their support. If the leader doesn’t acknowledge the employee’s “own force” and treats the employee as though there were none, the employee may interpret the leader’s actions as unnecessarily punitive or a put-down. This may result from the leader overworking the issue or covering old ground from the employee’s point of view. The leader simply needs to make sure that the employee’s awareness is accurate and that the level of readiness is high enough and then guide the employee into an action plan.

The goal in all of this is to let employees feel like a part of the team, to recognize that employees have accurately detected the same concern or issue as the leader, and then to move the coaching process into the action plan. The bottom line is this: be prepared to give employees some credit. Look for the subtle signs that they are beginning to respond, and express your appreciation for their support and cooperation.

Good Morning: The Simple Step that Will Change Your Life

The personal Challenge of starting each day with a cheerful good morning is something we should all take seriously. It is easy to pass up, because it seems so simple. Often we think dramatic change must require dramatic effort. Not so. This simple step can change your life in more ways than you can imagine.

Let’s start with the basic scientific principle like attracts like. Let me share this with you in a few different perspectives.

Have you noticed that people who complain about bills and debt — seem to become more in debt?

Have you noticed that people who complain and are negative — tend to have more negative things happen to them than their non-complaining counterparts?

Have you ever noticed that people who have seemingly boundless energy and optimism have something new and wonderful to report almost every time you visit?

Have you noticed that those people who frequently complain or degrade themselves about their weight - tend to fail in weight loss endeavors?

Are you detecting a trend? Good. Let’s transfer this trend to Good Morning.

I want you to stop for a moment and visualize the month of June. How did your mornings start? What was happening during the first hour after you awoke?

Now, I am not psychic, but I am going to go out on a limb and make a few predictions:

If you began most of your days thinking negatively (life is too stressful; I am overwhelmed; I have too much to do) I would predict that your June has been stressful, you feel overwhelmed and you haven’t gotten much done.

If you began most of your days thinking very positively (something great will happen today; I like myself; I am so grateful that I have food and/or shelter and/or health) I would predict that your days, for the most-part, were content and fulfilling and you had unexpected moments of joy.

If you began your days somewhere in the middle of the two examples above (or just on autopilot) I would venture to say that your June probably looked a lot like May did– with no significant change.

Which brings us to another one of my favorite quotes: “If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.” Most of you who come to the Challenge have come here because we know we deserve more and we know we can have a richer, fuller life–we just need a path to follow.

I am giving you that path, but only you can move your feet forward. You can’t find a better way by reading about the Challenge — you can only find a better way by living the Challenge.

If you aren’t saying Good Morning - then here’s the rub - you aren’t living the challenge. This is one of the foundation blocks of the entire program. The program will still work - but not nearly as good as it could. You can take control of clutter, save your finances and accomplish many other goals - but will you feel that happiness and excitement we all yearn for in our lives? No. At least not on a consistent basis. Happiness is always a choice.

Don’t believe me? I am living proof. Last week I had a few major obstacles in my life. I am in the process of having extensive oral surgery which involves the cutting of all my gums. The procedure was scheduled for this past Wednesday (and yes, it is as painful as it sounds). This past weekend, I had the Memorial service for my father who died unexpectedly at age 60.

However, this past Monday, a colleague e-mailed and asked how things were going. I e-mailed back that everything was great (and I meant it!) I mentioned that I had an upcoming surgery and a memorial but that overall life was good–and it is. Part of this is also learning to be in the moment (something we work on a lot in the Challenge.)

When I went to my father’s memorial, I was fully present and felt all the emotions I needed to feel - but I did not let those emotions prevent me from the other joys of the week. If you wonder how that is possible, I can’t explain it to you. I can only tell you to live the Challenge — and you will see it in your own life.

You might be stressed about money–but focus on it too much and you will only create more money trouble. You will also miss out on the joys of each day.

You might be stressed about a relationship–but don’t let that rob you from the special moments of other relationships in your life.

You might be saddened over a loss or a death–but don’t let that steal the happiness that is available by spending time with those who are living.

Life might “happen” on its own - but we are the ones who are steering our hearts and minds. If you don’t actively steer, don’t act surprised when you wind up somewhere you don’t want to be.

Which brings us full circle — how do we steer? We steer through basic cognitive hope, expectation and programming. We reprogram the negativity and the bad experiences. We let those go and create a new life. We don’t do it overnight. We do it step-by-step until we become stronger than our troubles–and then we overcome them.

Saying Good Morning is the first step. Are you taking it each and every day? Are you steering your life to expect the best? If not, let today be the last day you live on auto-pilot. It’s time to take the wheel.
